How do I keep the bottle tip from clogging with cured Cyanoacrylate (CA)?

After use, lightly tap the bottle to help the CA drain back into the bottle. Store in a dry environment. Our products Dry Box and Dry Pak will help extend the use of the CA.

 

The nozzle will eventually clog - either cut back the nozzle or replace with the Stick Fast Change-A-Tip product.

The Change-A-Tip system comes with 8 tips with a bayonet lock that can be easily replaced. The tips are precision dispense. Replacing the tips instead of cutting them back keeps the application precise.

 

Clean Change-A-Tips with DeBonder or acetone to extend its use.  Make sure all solvent has been removed to avoid contaminating the CA

 

What happens when the CA turns white when using the Activator?

Too much Activator turns the CA white. CA may also bubble or foam up because of the heat generated by the ultra fast curing.  Use a light spray of Activator, ideally use the Stick Fast Aerosol Activator with a fine mist to minimize this from happening.

 

What happens when the Dry Pak turns pink?

The Dry Pak is a color changing desiccant that will help keep a dry storage environment ideal for the CA.

The Dry Pak turns from blue to pink when it can no longer absorb moisture.

Simply put the Dry Pak in the microwave for several minutes to dry it out.

Caution! The Dry Pak may be hot. It will be blue and will work again.

 

What happens when the Epoxy gets too thick? - it was just sitting on my shelf.

Stick Fast Epoxy does not have solvents. It thickens in cool temperatures or as it gets older.

To thin, submerge the bottle in hot water for a few minutes or put in a microwave for 5-10 seconds at a time.  Let cool before using.

 

What happens when the CA Wood Finish cracks?

Cracking occurs when Stick Fast CA Wood Finish is applied too thickly and does not cure between layers.

Several thin coats are better than a few thick coats.  This also occurs when the CA Wood Finish is getting old creating the same results as too thick of a coat.  It is still good to use as a bonding CA, so don't throw it away just yet.
